In New York State, insureds may purchase Supplementary Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (SUM) coverage which provides added protection from bodily injury resulting from motor vehicle accidents. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is proud to administer the SUM Arbitration Program on behalf of the New York Department of Financial Services. Within the scope of the AAA’s New York State Insurance Program, claimants may file for SUM arbitration to determine their entitlement to compensation for their injuries. SUM arbitrators have hearing sites throughout New York State.
